I’m a researcher with collaborative approaches and experience in scientific research on ecology with an understanding of the socioeconomic aspects.
I’ve graduated and gathered work experience from landscape architecture institutions (CEPT University, Ahmedabad and Integrated Design, Bangalore, respectively), who believe in understanding the environment, its dynamism and the actors shaping it. This teaching and training have taught me to develop management and planning designs rooted in this knowledge. Recently, I submitted my PhD dissertation on identifying the patterns of forest regeneration in human-modified habitats, the stands of invasive trees established over natural grasslands of the Shola landscapes of the Western Ghats. My career spans research and real-world application, working with humans and nature, and I wish to continue on this trajectory. |
invasion ecologyModified landscapes are often highlighted for their negative spin-offs. My study focuses, instead, on specific ecological settings that permit the establishment of native biodiversity in such modified landscapes - invasive timber stands.

forest mensurationI am currently working on Terrestrial Laser Scanning data analyses at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. I have also collected and analysed hemispherical photographs to derive stand attributes in the Western Ghats, India.

illustrationI’m an illustrator, which has come in handy in illustrating ideas and concepts. I’ve also found this helpful skill to make the knowledge gained from academic research public. I also create merchandise for events.
